How to Handle Reverse Stock Splits / Stock Merge

Note: We highly recommend using auto generated events to help you handle stock splits instead of the following which is manual.

  1. Go to this page.
  2. For the Symbol fields:
    • Include the exchange prefix
Example: Use USX:APPL instead of just AAPL.
    • If there is no change in Symbol, then type in the same symbol for both Symbol (Old) and Symbol (New) fields.
  3. For the Stock Split Ratio fields:
    • Enter the ratios according to how it is split
Example: If it is a 3:1 reverse stock split, Stock Split Ratio (Old) is 3. Stock Split Ratio (New) is 1.
  4. Click on Split and you are done.

The above would create two transactions for you. A sell transaction to sell the shares you own before the reverse stock split, and a buy transaction to purchase the shares after the reverse stock split.
